The State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the statistical authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in the meeting of the Council of the Heads of Statistical Services of CIS member states

On 23 April 2026, an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the statistical authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, jointly organized by the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS and the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic was held in Bishkek and on 24 April, the 75th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS member states took place in the Issyk-Kul region. Vahab Mammadov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the events.

During the 75th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS member states, discussions focused on the Council’s activities in 2025, the work carried out by the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS in 2025, the action plan for the implementation of the second phase (2026–2030) of the CIS Economic Development Strategy in the field of statistics for the period up to 2030, as well as the progress of the “Development of CIS Statistics” project in 2023–2025, and other related issues.

Within the framework of the event, an International Forum on “Modernization of Statistical Business Processes: Formation of a New Ecosystem of Official Statistics” was held. The forum featured discussions on the modernization of official statistics, the digital transformation of statistical business processes, as well as topical issues related to strengthening statistical capacity in the context of growing challenges and the importance of meeting user demands.

At the forum, Vahab Mammadov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, delivered a presentation providing participants with comprehensive information on the national statistical system of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including digital services implemented by the Committee, the use of administrative, satellite, and big data in official statistics, international projects, and priority areas for future development.
