Number of employees and salaries in the country

As of March 1, 2026, the number of employees in the country amounted to 1784,0 thsd. persons, of whom 870,6 thsd. were engaged in the public sector and 913,4 thsd. persons in the non-public sector.

18,5 percent of employees were engaged in trade; repair of vehicles, 18,3 percent in education, 13,8 percent in industry, 8,6 percent in health and social services provided to population, 6,5 percent in construction, 6,1 percent in public administration and defense; social security, 4,4 percent in transport and warehouse, 4,0 percent in professional, scientific and technical activity, 2,4 percent in finance and insurance, 2,3 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing and 15,1 percent in other fields of economy.

In January 2026, average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country increased by 5,3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted 1099,1 manats.
