Number of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived to the Republic of Azerbaijan and citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who travelled to foreign countries, January-February 2026
According to the State Border Service data, in January-February 2026 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 337,3 thousand or 0,4 percent less foreigners and stateless persons from 163 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 23,2% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 21,1% – Türkiye, 9,0% – Iran, 5,0% – Georgia, 4,6% – India, 3,7% – Pakistan, 3,6% – Kazakhstan, 3,2% – Saudi Arabia, 2,9% - Uzbekistan, 2,6% - Israel, 2,0% – China, 1,4% - each from Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Ukraine, 1,3% - each from Great Britain and Turkmenistan, 12,3% – were citizens of other countries. 72,0% of the arrivals were men and 28,0% were women.
Compared to January-February 2025, the number of arrivals from EU member countries increased by 26,4 percent and amounted to 13,9 thousand persons, from the CIS countries it increased by 3,4% and amounted to 111,1 thousand persons, from Gulf countries decreased by 10,9 percent and amounted to 55,3 thousand persons, and arrivals from other countries decreased by 0,7%, reaching 157,0 thousand persons.
70,2% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 28,4% - railway and car, and 1,4% - sea transport.
The total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad increased by 0,8% compared to January-February 2025 and amounted to 298,7 thousand persons. 37,4% of our citizens travelled to Türkiye (2,1% less compared to January-February of the previous year), 15,2% - Russian Federation (2,8% less), 12,5% - Iran (17,7% more), 9,9% - Georgia (12,2% less), 25,0% to other countries (0,1% less). 66,7% of the travelers were men and 33,3% were women.
In January-February 2026, 68,0% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used air transport, 30,4% railway and car, and 1,6% - sea transport.
