Emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere

In 2025 volume of air pollutant emissions from stationary sources compared to 2024 decreased by 15,4 percent and made 98,0 thsd. tons. 41,4 percent of harmful emissions made carbohydrates, 22,4 percent – carbon oxide, 21,2 percent - nitrogen oxide, 1,2 - sulfur anhydrite and 13,8 percent other pollutants. Volume of emissions of harmful substances from stationary sources in Baku, the industrial center, decreased by 11,0 thsd. tons, in Shirvan – 0,9 thsd. ton, while it increased by 1,3 thsd. tons. in Mingachevir and remained unchanged in Sumgait.

In 2025, the volume of air pollutants emitted from motor vehicle increased by 12,8 percent compared to 2024 and made 959,8 thsd. tons. 67,3 percent of the total pollutants emitted from motor vehicles were carbon oxides, 16,3 percent carbohydrates, 14,6 percent carbon oxide and 1,8 percent other substances.
