Changes in prices of consumer market

Consumer price index in February 2026 compared to February 2025 increased by 5,7%, including food products, beverages and tobacco products 6,8%, non-food products 3,7% and paid services provided to population 5,7%.

Compared to January–February 2025, the average annual price increase was 5,7 percent, while in the last month it was 0,6 percent.

In February 2026, consumer prices for food products, beverages and tobacco products increased by 1,1% compared to the previous month and by 7.0 percent in January–February compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

 In February of the current year compared to the previous month, the prices of several food products such as bread, sausage products, fresh fish, milk, sour cream, cheese, cottage cheese, table margarine, olive, sunflower and corn oils, lemon, tangerine, banana, apple, pear, quince, pomegranate, walnut, hazelnut, greens, cucumber, tomato, pumpkin, carrot, potato, natural honey, coffee, cocoa, mineral water, soft drinks, juices, and alcoholic beverages increased, while prices of mutton, egg, orange, chestnut, white cabbage, and onions decreased. No significant changes were observed in prices of other food products. 

In February 2026, consumer prices for non-food products increased by 0,3% compared to the previous month, and by 3,6% in January–February compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In February compared to the previous month, mainly the prices of cement, ceramic tiles, furniture, detergents, personal hygiene products, and jewelry increased, while prices of winter clothing, wallpaper, plastic pipes and cut wood decreased. No significant changes were observed in prices of other non-food products.

In February 2026, increase in prices for paid services provided to population was 0,2 percent compared to the previous month and 5,7 percent in January–February compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In February compared to the previous month, prices for paid services provided to population, particularly medical services, hotel services, hairdressing services, and passenger transportation services by air to countries other than CIS countries increased, while prices for passenger transportation services by air to CIS countries and leisure tours decreased. No significant changes were observed in prices of other paid services.
