The newly appointed Chairman of the State Statistical Committee was introduced to the staff of the Committee

Mr. Khalid Ahadov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on social and economic affairs introduced Mr. Azer Mursagulov, appointed as Chairman of the State Statistical Committee pursuant to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 10 February 2026 to the staff of the Committee on 11 February.

Mr. Khalid Ahadov, speaking at the presentation stated that the large-scale reforms carried out in the Republic of Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev encompass all sectors, and that the field of statistics holds particular significance.

Emphasizing that the activities of the State Statistical Committee are constantly under the attention of the Head of State, Mr. Khalid Ahadov spoke about the new tasks facing state institutions, including the Committee, against the background of the processes taking place in the world and the impact of digitalization on the country’s socio-economic and other spheres. Mr. Khalid Ahadov expressed his confidence that these tasks will be successfully fulfilled and wished success to the newly appointed Chairman as well as to the staff in their future activities.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, Mr. Azer Mursagulov, expressed his gratitude to President Mr Ilham Aliyev for the trust placed in him. He noted that, they will work with determination, mobilizing their knowledge, experience and efforts in order to ensure the proper implementation of the objectives set before the Committee, to apply innovative approaches, to enable data-driven decision-making, and to achieve the goals set for the continuous development of the field of statistics and the consistent implementation of reforms that will contribute to the country’s socio-economic progress.
