The number of nights spent in hotels in the country in 2021 increased by 78.7 percent compared with 2020 and amounted to 1787.0 thousand. 48.7% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 7.9% in Gabala, 6.7% in Khachmaz, 5.9% in Guba, 5.8% in Shabran, 4.2% in Lankaran, 3.9% in Gusar, 2.7% in Naftalan, 2.2% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.6% in Shamakhi, 1.5% in Gakh, 1.1% in Masalli, 1.0% in Mingachevir and 6.8% in other districts (cities).

The number of nights spent in hotels by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 2.4 times compared with 2020 and amounted to 1372.8 thousand, representing 76.8% of total nights.

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons decreased by 0.6 percent compared with 2020 and amounted to 414.2 thousand, representing 23.2% of total nights. 15.5% of the nights were spent by Turkish citizens, 11.0% - the Russian Federation, 9.8% - the United Arab Amirates, 8.1% - Great Britain, 3.8% - Israel citizens, 3.5% - Saudi Arabia, 2.8% - USA, 2.8% - Italy, 2.7% - Germany, 2.0% - Qatar, 1.9% - India, 1.5% - Ukraine, 1.4% - the Netherlands, 1.2% - Kazakhstan, 1.2% - Iran, 1.1% - Belarus, 1.1% - Kuwait, 1.0% - Georgia, 1.0% - France, 26.6% - citizens of other countries.

81.1% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 6.6% in Gabala, 3.0% in Gusar, 2.6% in Guba, 1.9% in Naftalan, 1.7% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.6% in Shabran, 1.5% in other districts and cities.

In 2021, hotels' revenues increased by 79.1 percent compared with 2020 and amounted to 209.2 million manats, 59.7% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 28.9% for catering services, 2.5% for treatment and health services, and 8.9% for other services.

In 2021, the average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 11.2% (6.5% in 2020). This indicator was 82.2% in Shabran, 25.5% in Beylagan, 22.2% in Guba, 21.0% in Naftalan, 19.1% in Lankaran, 16.2% in Gabala, 14.2% in Baku, 14.0% in Aghjabadi, 13.0% in Barda, 12.9% in Goychay, 12.7% in Jalilabad, 12.0% in Sabirabad, 11.7% in Shamkir, 11.2% in Shamakhi, while in other cities and regions it was below average.
