Vahab Mammadov was born on 27 August, 1963 in Azerbaijan (Baku city). In 1984 he graduated from Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy. He is a Candidate of Economic Sciences.
In 1984-1987 he worked as an Accountant in Baku Production Association named by Ali Bayramov, during 1987-1992 he was an Economist and a scientist in Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Agricultural Economics.
During 1988-1991 he continued his education on Doctoral Degree and he maintained his scientific work in Central Labour Institute of Moscow city. During 1992-1993 he worked as a Leading Economist, Head Economist in Labour and Social Affairs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in 1993 he became Deputy Head of Department in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during 1994-1997 he was a Deputy Chairman of the Fund of Social Protection of Disabled People of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in 1997-2015 a Deputy Head of Department, a Head of Department, a Head of Division in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2000-2001 he worked in the position of Director in Labor and Social Problems in the Research and Training Center under the subordination of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 19 October, 2015 he was appointed a Head of Administration of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 03 February, 2016 he was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He is a Counselor of Civil Service.
Vahab Mammadov is married and has two children.
