According to the State Border Service data, in January-March 2025 the Republic of Azerbaijan received 508,1 thousand or 1,1 percent more foreigners and stateless persons from 167 countries of the world compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. 24,7% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 18,3% – Türkiye, 10,8 % – India, 9,8 – Iran, 5,0 % – Georgia, 3,6% – Kazakhstan, 2,7 % – Pakistan, per each 2,1 % – Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, 1,8 - Uzbekistan, 1,7% – China, per 1,7% – Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Israel, 1,2% - Kuwait, 1,0% - Belarus, 10,7% – were citizens of other countries. 71,6% of the arrivals were men and 28,4% were women.
In comparison with the same period of the previous year, the number of arrivals from Israel increased by 4-fold, China – 1.8 - fold, Tajikistan – 2,0-fold, Spain – 1,6-fold, India – 47.6-%, Jordan – 1,6-fold, Egypt – 25.0%, the Netherlands – 12.2%, Kyrgyzstan – 32.6%, Pakistan – 11.5%, USA – 17.3%, Japan – 26.5%, Canada – 15.2%.
Compared to January-March 2024, the number of arrivals from EU member countries decreased by 7.8 percent and amounted to 17,1 thousand persons, from Gulf countries decreased by 9.3 percent and amounted to 82.9 thousand persons, from the CIS countries decreased by 10.7% and amounted to 170.6 thousand persons, and from other countries increased by 11.8% and amounted to 237.5 thousand persons.
69.9% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country used air transport, 28,4% - railway and car, and 1.7% - sea transport.
The total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad decreased by 4,3% compared to January-March 2024 and amounted to 468,9 thousand persons. The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 24.1%, Georgia - 16,4%, while the number of citizens traveling to Russian Federation decreased by 2,3%, Türkiye – 5.4%. 36,5% of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveled to Türkiye, 15,7% – Russian Federation, 11,0% – Georgia, 10,7% - Iran, 26,1% to other countries. 66,3% of the travelers were men and 33,7% were women.
In January-March 2025, 68.2% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who visited foreign countries used air transport, 29,7% railway and car, and 2,1% - sea transport.
