On December 13-15, 2023, the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific hosted the 19th Session of the Governing Council of the Institute and the 18th Management Seminar for the Heads of National Statistical Offices in Asia and the Pacific in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

At the session of the council, the report of the director of SIAP on the activities and financial condition of the Institute for 2023, the program of activities and financial plan for 2024, as well as issues related to the formation of a strategic plan for 2025-2029 were discussed. The management seminar was dedicated to strengthening the management and leadership skills of the heads of national statistical offices and mainly covered the main principles of official statistics.

Mr. Yusif Yusifov, Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan represented our country at the events.
