Mass sowing of winter grain crops for the product of 2022 is about to be completed in the country and for the state of 24th December of the current year winter crops for grain and green feed were sown in the area of 1021987.6 hectare. 98.8% or 1009451.2 hectare of sowing area was formed winter crops for grain; its 601837.6 hectare was share of wheat, 407448.6 hectare-barley and 165.0 hectare-rye.

Most wheat plants were sown in Jelilabad (56449.3 ha), Sheki (32318.6 ha), Shamakhi (29321.4 ha), Fuzuli (29321.0 ha), Ismayilli (22495.0 ha), Hajigabul (21978.9 ha) and Aghjabadi (19654.7 ha) districts, most barley plants were sown in Neftchala (34825.7 ha), Kurdamir (32996.4 ha), Sheki city (32964.4 ha), Bilasuvar (22568.1 ha), Aghsu (18921.0 ha), Goranboy (14450.0 ha) and Fuzuli (12518.3 ha), districts.

Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year sowing area of winter crops for grain increased by 2.9%, as well as sowing of barley by 9.3%, while sowing area of wheat decreased by 1.1%.
