In January-October 2021 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 185 countries of the world, goods were exported to 115 countries and imported from 173 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country in January-October 2021 made 26654,5 million USD. 17320,7 million USD or 65,0% of trade turnover made the export value, 9333,8 (35,0%) million USD – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 7986,9 million USD. In comparison with January-October 2020 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 34,4%, while decreased in real terms by 1,8%, including import – 12,3% while export increased by 6,6%.

In January-October 2021 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to the corresponding period of previous year, increased in actual price by 42,2%, in real terms by 31,0% and made 2053,6 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 39,6% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 11,9% - Turkey, 4,5% - Croatia, 4,1% - Russia, 3,7% - Israel, 3,3% - Spain, per 3,5% – Portugal and Georgia, 3,0% - India, 2,6% - Tunis, per 2.5% - Germany and Ukraine, 2,0% - UK, per 1,4% - Belarus and Switzerland, per 1,3% - Greece and Canada, and the rest 8,5% - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (32,4%), Turkey (24,8%), Switzerland (9,0%), Georgia (6,4%), USA (2,9%), Brazil (2,3%), Ukraine (2,1%), Kazakhstan (1,5%), China (1,4%), Italy (1,3%), Belgium (1,3%), the Netherlands (1,2%), Turkmenistan (1,1%), Uzbekistan (1,0%), UK (1,0%), Iran (1,0%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil gas products.

17,7% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 15,9% – Turkey, 14,0% - China, 5,7% – Germany, per 3,9% - USA and Ukraine, 3,8% – Italy, 3,3% – Iran, 2,5% - UK, 2,3% – Japan, 1,9% – Korea, 1,6% - France, 1,5% - Brazil, 1,2% – India, 1,1% - Belarus, per 1,0% - Vietnam, and 18,7% - other countries.

In January-October 2021 compared to the corresponding period of previous year export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 21,4%, potato – 12,9%, sugar – 30,5%, fruit and vegetable juice – 4,3%, fruit and vegetable cans – 24,3%, natural grape wines and grape juice – 0.6%, cotton fiber – 44,0%, polyethylene – 26,8%, cotton yarn – 2,3 times, semi-finished ferrous metals – 4,6 times, ferrous metal pipes – 10,0%, bentonite clay – 1,0 while export of fresh vegetable decreased by 22,5%, vegetable oils – 15,4%, tobacco – 13,6%, tea – 19,9%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 11,1%, unprocessed aluminum – 26,4%.

In January-October 2021 compared to January-October 2020 import of raw sugar increased by 1,9%, tea – 4,4%, potato – 20,8%, fresh vegetables – 40,0%, cars – 1,7 times, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 8.4%, trucks – 1,7 times, rubber tires – 28,5%, furniture – 31,6%, washing machines – 19,0%, household air conditioners – 0,4%, buses – 19,2%, domestic refrigerators – 44,4%, while import of wheat decreased by 22,0%, vegetable oils – 6,9%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 8,9%, poultry meat and its additional products – 0,3%, beef – 44,8%, cigarettes – 32,0%, medical products – 10,6%, rolled steel – 37,6%, ferrous metal pipes – 23,8%, ferrous metal rods – 67,9%, mineral fertilizers – 60.9%,  polyethylene – 27,7%, ferrous metal corners – 24,1%, cement and cement clinker – 15,1%. Import of new fruits remained unchanged
