In January-June 2020, 760 or 7.5% less traffic accidents occurred in comparison with the corresponding period of 2019, as a result of these events the number of victims of these events decreased by 5.6% to 1026. 325 of suffered persons died and 701 of them were injured. 41.7 % of accidents happened in the daytime, 36.3 % - at night time, 22.0 % - during twilight, 29.3 % of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.

89.2 % of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared to the last year stayed at the same level and made 249 persons, number of injured persons decreased by 10.1 % and made 650 persons.

41.8 % of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 34.6% - several transport means, 23.6 % - one mode of transport.

10 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 6 persons died, 11 persons injured. 70.0 % of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.

In January-June 2020, the number of administrative violation of traffic rules was 1565.7 thousand. 39.9% of violations were detected on exceeding the speed on the road, 15.9% - violation of the parking and stopping rules, 10.1% - disobedience the requirements of the traffic and road signs, 9.1% - continue the movement during the traffic light or the regulator’s warning sign is active, 7.2% - driving without seat belt, 4.9% - violation of the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary and quarantine regimes, 4.6% - failure to sign compulsory insurance contract and the rest by other reasons. Penalties in amount of 52.6 million manats were applied because of violation of traffic rules.
