For the state of April 1, 2020 number of employees engaged in the country economy compared to the corresponding period of the previous year made 65.3 thousand person or increased by 4.1 percent and made 1646.1 thousand person, 911.7 thousand of them were the employees of the public sector and 734.4 thousand person were the employees of the non-public sector.

20.3 percent of employees were engaged in education, 17.9 percent in trade; repair of transport means, 13.0 percent in industry, 8.2 percent in health and social services provided to population, 7.5 percent in construction, 6.9 percent in public administration and defence; social security, 4.6 percent in transport and warehouse, 3.5 percent in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.3 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 1.8 percent in finance and insurance and 13.0 percent in other fields of economy.

In January-March 2020 average monthly nominal salary of employees engaged in the country economy compared to the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 28.9 percent and made 744.5 manats. Average monthly nominal salary in the sphere of mining industry, finance and insurance, professional, scientific and technical activity, information and communication, as well as transportation and storage was higher.
