On January-March 2020 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 153 countries of the world, goods were exported to 91 countries and imported from 142 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January-March 2020 made 6695,3 million USD. 4058,3 million USD or 60,6% of trade turnover made the export value, 2637,0 (39,4%) million USD – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 1421,3 million USD. In comparison with January-March 2019 foreign trade turnover decreased in actual price by 16,0 percent, in real terms by 15,8 percent, including import – 32,9 percent, export - 4,8 percent.

On January-March 2020 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to January-March 2019, increased in actual price by 3,4 percent, while in real terms it decreased by 5,2 percent and made 429,0 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 43,5 percent of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 8,3 percent - Turkey, 6,0 percent – Israel, 4,5 percent – Greece, 4,0 percent – India, 3,4 percent Czech Republic, 3,3 percent – Russia, per 2,8 percent – Tunisia and Portugal, 2,5 percent – Georgia, per 2,3 percent – Germany and Ukraine, 2,1 percent – Vietnam, 2,0 percent – Austria and the rest 10,2 percent - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (31,3%), Turkey (24,3%), Georgia (10,0%), Switzerland (9,5%), China (2,8%), Ukraine (2,8%), Italy (2,6%), Kazakhstan (1,8%), Iran (1,7%), USA (1,4%), Germany (1,2%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil products.

16,4 percent of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 14,8 percent – Turkey, 13,4 percent - China, 10,7 percent - USA, 5,2 percent – Germany, 4,5 percent – Italy, 3,8 percent – Ukraine, 3,0 percent – Iran, 2,2 percent – UK, per 1,8 percent – Korea and Japan, 1,7 percent – Turkmenistan, 1,5 percent – France and 19,2 percent - other countries.

On January-March 2020 compared to January-March 2019 export of main types of products like fresh vegetable increased by 9,4%, sugar – 16,3%, vegetable oils – 2,8 times, fruit and vegetable cans – 44,6%, tea – 5,4%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 2,1 times, potato – 37,3%, cotton fiber – 15,9%, polyethylene – 15,8%, cotton yarn – 40,3%, ferrous metal pipes – 1,8 times while export of fresh fruit decreased by 27,5%, fruit and vegetable juice – 14,5%, tobacco – 27,3%, natural grape wine and cellar – 69,0 percent, unprocessed aluminum – 9,8 percent, bentonite clay – 34,8.

 

On January-March 2020 compared to January-March 2019 import of fresh fruit increased by 14,6 percent, vegetable oils – 3,0 percent, butter other milk fats and pastas – 49,4 percent, tea – 25,5 percent, beef – 9.8 percent, fresh vegetable – 1,7 times, motor cars – 2,0 times, medical products – 1,8 times, steel rolling – 1,7 times, ferrous metal pipes – 1,3 percent, ferrous metal rods – 1,7 times, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 1,6 times, rubber tires – 8,2 percent, domestic trucks – 51,2 percent, furniture – 6,9 percent, polyethylene – 4,1 percent, washing machines – 26,8 percent, busses – 50,0 percent, cement and cement clinker – 12,1 percent, domestic refrigerators – 50,2 percent, while import of wheat decreased by 59,2 percent, potato – 3,8 percent, poultry meat and its additional products – 27,0 percent, raw sugar and sugar – 75,2 percent, tobacco – 79,8 percent, mineral fertilizers – 25,3 percent, ferrous metal corners – 11,3 percent, air conditioners – 56,0 percent.
