In January-October 2025 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 175 countries of the world, goods were exported to 120 countries and imported from 170 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed, the foreign trade turnover of the country in January-October 2025 made 39913,9 million USD. 20688,7 million USD or 51,8% of trade turnover made the export value, 19225,2 million USD (48,2%) – import value, and consequently positive trade balance amounted to 1463,5 million USD. In comparison with January-October 2024, foreign trade turnover increased in actual prices by 3,9% and decreased in real terms - 7,9%. Import decreased in real terms by 7,9%, export by 7,8 %.

In January-October 2025 the export of non-oil-gas products made 2987,8 million USD and compared to January-October 2024 it increased by 6,6% in actual prices and decreased by 17,7% in real terms.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 25,8% of foreign trade turnover of the country was for Italy, 11,7% for Türkiye, 10,2% for Russia, 9,3% for China, 3,0% for Germany, 2,6% for the United States, 2,5% for the United Kingdom, 2,1% for Switzerland, 1,9% each for Australia and Czech Republic, 1,7% each for Georgia and Greece, 1,6% each for Bulgaria and Croatia, 1,5% for Kazakhstan, 1,4% for Romania, 1,3% for Iran, 1,2% for Uzbekistan, 1,1% each for Portugal and Ukraine, 0,9% for France, 0,8% each for Belarus and India, 12,3% of the trade operations were with other countries.

46,9% of exports represented the value of products shipped to Italy, 13,0% accounts for Türkiye, 4,5% for Russia, 3,3% for the Czech Republic, 3,1% for Greece, 3,0% for Bulgaria, 2,9% for Croatia, 2,6% for Georgia, 2,5% for Germany, 2,3% for Romania, 2,0% for Portugal, 1,8% for Switzerland, 1,3% for the United Kingdom, 1,0% for Ireland, 0,9% each for the Netherlands and Ukraine, 0,8% for Tunisia, 0,7% for France, 0,6% for India, 0,5% for Serbia, 5,4% for other countries.

In the structure of non-oil and gas product exports, the main shares were: Russia (32,4 percent), Türkiye (16,3 percent), Switzerland (9,7 percent), Georgia (9,2 percent), Ukraine (5,7 percent), the United Arab Emirates (3,1 percent), Kazakhstan (2,7 percent), Belarus (2,1 percent), Uzbekistan (2,0 percent), Turkmenistan (1,8 percent), the USA                 (1,7 percent), Italy (1,2 percent), Germany (1,1 percent), China (1,1 percent). 

In the total value of imported goods, 19,4 percent China, 16,5 percent Russia, 10,1 percent Türkiye, 5,2 percent the USA, 4,0 percent Australia, 3,9 percent the United Kingdom, 3,6 percent Germany, 2,7 percent each for Kazakhstan and Iran, 2,4 percent Switzerland, 2,1 percent each Uzbekistan and Italy, 1,5 percent each Mexico, Japan, Brazil and the Republic of South Africa, 1,4 percent each Korea and Belarus, 1,2 percent Ukraine, 1,0 percent each France and India, 0,9 percent Spain, 12,4 percent other countries.

In January-October 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, exports of the following main products increased: fresh fruit – 28,2 percent, fresh vegetables – 17,9 percent, sugar – 58,5 percent, cigarettes – 35,0 percent, potatoes – 47,1 percent, vegetable oils – 22,3 percent, mineral fertilizers – 8,0 percent, polyethylene – 5,2 percent, unprocessed aluminum – 48,7 percent, cement clinkers – 13,8 percent, cotton yarn – 17,8 percent, while export of fruit and vegetable juices decreased by 1,5 percent, canned fruit and vegetable - 19,0 percent, tobacco – 45,7 percent, tea – 4,3 percent, margarine and other mixtures suitable for food – 27,0 percent, natural grape wines and grape must – 22,0 percent, cotton fiber – 9,8 percent, polypropylene – 6,4 percent, electricity – 34,9 percent, pipes of ferrous metals – 9,8 percent, bars of ferrous metals – 40,2 percent, bentonite clay – 16,4 percent.

Compared to January-October 2024, in January-October 2025 imports of wheat increased by 6,4 percent, raw sugar – 25,6 percent, potatoes – 13,8 percent, beef – 2,8 percent, fresh vegetables – 35,6 percent, cigarettes – 2,8 times, passenger cars – 29,8 percent, rolled steel – 0,7 percent, buses - 2,4 times, household air conditioners – 11,5 percent, mineral fertilizers - 3,1 percent, polyethylene – 20,0 percent, polypropylene – 5,2 percent, household refrigerators – 11,6 percent, while imports of vegetable oils decreased by 7,1 percent, butter, other diary fats and pastes – 12,1 percent, fresh fruits – 14,7 percent,

chocolate and chocolate products – 4,0 percent, flour confectionery products – 2,0 percent,

tea - 5,5 percent, poultry meat and its by-products – 28,9 percent, pharmaceutical products – 15,6 percent, pipes of ferrous metals – 12,4 percent, computing machines, blocks and devices – 9,8 percent, shoes - 2,0 percent, rubber tires – 3,1 percent, synthetic detergents – 5,8 percent, furniture – 0,3 percent, trucks – 6,4 percent, bars of ferrous metals – 0,9 percent, washing machines – 11,2 percent, angles of ferrous metals – 1,9 percent, cement – 21,8 percent.
