An event dedicated to the theme “National Leader Heydar Aliyev – the author of the Constitution of independent Azerbaijan” was held at the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan

An event dedicated to the theme “National Leader Heydar Aliyev is the author of the Constitution of independent Azerbaijan” was held at the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

First, the participants visited the bust of the National Leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, which is located in the lobby of the Committee, and laid flowers in his honor.

The event began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

In their remarks, the participants emphasized that the restoration and strengthening of statehood traditions in the modern history of Azerbaijan are closely linked to the name of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. His statehood strategy goes beyond the mere establishment of political governance, it represents a comprehensive approach that laid the foundations for national identity, a legal system, economic independence, and a balanced foreign policy. The primary goal of this strategy was to establish Azerbaijan as a strong, sovereign, democratic, and law-based state, ensuring the welfare and security of its people. Heydar Aliyev’s statehood strategy not only brought political stability, but also focused on reinforcing the foundations of an independent state through legal reforms. From this perspective, the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, adopted in 1995, entered history as a foundational document that established the legal basis of modern statehood and formally affirmed the country’s independence. The new Constitution not only established the legal framework, but also embodied the ideological vision of Heydar Aliyev, the principles of statehood, and the sovereignty of the people.

The preparation and adoption of Azerbaijan’s modern Constitution stand among the greatest contributions of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the people of Azerbaijan. The Great Leader devoted considerable effort to each article of the Constitution, engaging in discussions and conveying his strategic vision to the people through this foundational document. As reflected in the First National Constitution authored by the Great Leader, our country is now independent, sovereign, and its territory remains intact. It is the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev, who has fully restored the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, following in the footsteps of the Great Leader and his worthy successor.
