Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in in January-September 2022

In January-September 2022, 1259 or 7,5% more traffic accidents occurred compared to the corresponding period of 2021, the number of victims of these events increased by 9,8% to 1698 persons. 599 of suffered persons died and 1099 of them were injured. 47,1% of accidents happened in the daytime, 38,6% - at night time, 14,3% - during twilight, 30,3% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.

84,3% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared to the corresponding period of last year increased by 10,4% and made 425 persons, number of injured persons increased by 2,2% and made 992 persons.

40,4% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 37,3% - several transport means, 22,3% - one mode of transport.

77,5% of persons died and 71,3% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.

5 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 1 person died, 7 persons injured. 4 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
