On March 9, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Tahir Budagov met with the World Bank Regional Director for South Caucasus Sebastian Molineus.

During the meeting, it was noted that many meetings aimed at the development of bilateral cooperation have been organized in recent years as a result of active partnership between the State Statistical Committee and the World Bank, and the importance of projects and events implemented within this partnership for strengthening statistical capacity in the country, bringing the National Statistical System in line with international standards and the development of the country statistics was emphasized. Discussions were held on the update of the Systematic Diagnostic Research (CSDR) on Azerbaijan, conducted by the World Bank and planned to be presented in June 2022, and the use of official statistical data in this regard. Furthermore, views were exchanged on the future cooperation for the assessment of progress in reducing poverty and achieving general well-being in Azerbaijan on the basis of the household budget survey carried out by the State Statistical Committee.
