Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in in January-March 2022

In January-March 2022, 403 or 7,2% more traffic accidents occurred compared to the corresponding period of 2021, the number of victims of these events increased by 12,3% to 556 persons. 183 of suffered persons died and 373 of them were injured. 48,9% of accidents happened in the daytime, 35,0% - at night time, 16,1% - during twilight, 29,0% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.

84,1% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared to the corresponding period of last year increased by 44,9% and made 129 persons, number of injured persons increased by 0,9% and made 335 persons.

46,4% of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 32,8% - several transport means, 20,8% - one mode of transport.

76,0% of persons died and 68,9% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.

3 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 1 persons died, 4 persons injured. 2 of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
