Staff of the State Statistical Committee got acquainted with the experience of the Statistics Finland

Delegation led by Vahab Mammadov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan was on a visit to the Statistics Finland within the EU Twinning project "Support to the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy to strengthen collection, harmonization, analysis, publishing and dissemination of business statistics” on 24-28 January, 2022. During the visit, bilateral cooperation issues between the State Statistical Committee and the Statistics Finland, the work done within the project, issues to be implemented in the future, the study of the experience of Finland in the process of improving business statistics in Azerbaijan and opportunities for its application in the country's experience and the forthcoming tasks were discussed. Specialists of the Statistics Finland made presentations on structural business statistics, financial statistics, carrying out of the sample on the industrial enterprises, methods of improvement of the statistical production process, organization of business statistics, statistical data sources, communication channels, the use of administrative data sources for the official statistical purposes, registration of statistical units, etc. In the tax field, income tax statistics, use of open data, activity of information service, use of tax information in official statistics and integration issues were discussed. During the visit, representatives of the State Statistical Committee made a presentation on the opportunities for expanding administrative data sources in official statistics, work done in this field, structural business statistics, observation units, institutional bases, data sources for structural business statistics, ensuring the quality and comparability of data from various sources and the participants of the training had an extensive exchange of views with Finnish specialists on issues of mutual interest. Employees of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan also attended the visit along with the representatives of the State Statistical Committee.
