Staff of the State Statistical Committee got acquainted with the experience of the Statistics Finland

Delegation led by Yusif Yusifov, Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan was on a visit to the Statistics Finland within the EU Twinning project "Support to the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy to strengthen collection, harmonization, analysis, publishing and dissemination of business statistics” on November 29-December 3, 2021. During the visit, cooperation issues between the State Statistical Committee and the Statistics Finland were discussed, mutual experience was exchanged, a high-level meeting of the members of the Steering Committee was held, the work done within the project and the forthcoming tasks were discussed.

Specialists of the Statistics Finland made presentations on official statistical system, statistical works program, statistical legislation, industry development strategy, quality assurance, registration of statistical units, business statistics management, methods of improvement of the statistical production process, etc. A visit was organized to the Tax Office of Finland to familiarize with the work done on the role of the tax administrative database in the production of official statistical data and the transfer of necessary information to the Statistics Finland, improvement of the register and quality management standards in this field.

During the visit, representatives of the State Statistical Committee made a presentation on the organization of the production process of official statistical data, implemented reforms, forthcoming tasks and experience of the country on the use of administrative data in official statistics, the participants of the training had an extensive exchange of views with Finnish specialists on issues of mutual interest.

Employees of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and The Small and Medium Business (SMB) Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan also attended the visit along with the representatives of the State Statistical Committee.
