A mid-term event was held within “Support to the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy to strengthen collection, harmonization, analysis, publishing and dissemination of business statistics” Twinning project at “Hyatt Regency Baku” hotel on 5 October 2021.

The project is implemented by a consortium consisting of Statistic Finland, Statistics Lithuania and Statistics Netherlands. The main beneficiary organizations are the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The overall objective of the Twinning project is to increase capacity among local operators to collect, harmonize, analyze, publish and disseminate data on performance of the private sector/small and medium business in Azerbaijan. Relevant measures will be implemented by the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy within the project to improve the statistical business registers and to align business statistics methodology with the EU standards with due account for the business statistics needs of users.  

Wide-ranging discussions were held on the work implemented, difficulties encountered, and activities planned within the project. The project will end in April 2022.
