In January-July 2021 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 175 countries of the world, goods were exported to 111 countries and imported from 162 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country in January-July 2021 made 17337,2 million USD. 11039,3 million USD or 63,7% of trade turnover made the export value, 6297,9 (36,3%) million USD – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 4741,4 million USD. In comparison with January-July 2020 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 26,0%, while decreased in real terms by 6,7%, including import – 12,4%, export - 2,4%.

In January-July 2021 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to the corresponding period of previous year, increased in actual price by 30,8%, in real terms by 17,8% and made 1354,3 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 38,2% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 13,5% - Turkey, 4,5% - Spain, 4,4% - Croatia, 4,3% – Russia, 4,0% - Israel, 3,8% – Georgia, 3,1% - India, 2,9% - Tunis, 2,7% - Portugal, 2,0% - UK, 1,8% - Ukraine, per 1,2% - Canada, Germany and Thailand, per 1,1% - Switzerland, China and Belarus and the rest 7,9% - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (34,5%), Turkey (26,5%), Switzerland (9,6%), Georgia (6,9%), USA (2,5%), Ukraine (1,9%), China (1,9%), Kazakhstan (1,4%), Turkmenistan (1,3%), Uzbekistan (1,0%), was prevailed in export value on non-oil gas products.

16,9% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 15,3% – Turkey, 13,3% - China, 6,2% – Germany, per 4,2% - USA and Italy, 4,1% – Ukraine, 3,4% – Iran, 2,6% - UK, 2,2% – Japan, 2,0% – Korea, 1,8% - France, 1,5% - Brazil, 1,4% – India, 1,1% - Belarus, per 1,0% - Vietnam and Poland, and 17,8% - other countries.

In January-July 2021 compared to the corresponding period of previous year export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 33,0%, potato – 12,9%, sugar – 1,8 times, vegetable oils – 2,6%, fruit and vegetable juice – 15,9%, fruit and vegetable cans – 18,4%, natural grape wine and cellar – 11,3%, cotton fiber – 1,7 times, cotton yarn – 2,0 times, semi-finished ferrous metals – 12,4%, while export of fresh vegetable decreased by 22,3%, tea – 21,2%, tobacco – 43,2%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 25,2%, polyethylene – 6,2%, unprocessed aluminum – 42,1%, ferrous metal pipes – 1,3%, bentonite clay – 9,2%.

In January-July 2021 compared to January-July 2020 import of tea increased by 3,9%, potato – 14,1%, fresh vegetable – 43,3%, motor cars – 1,7 times, medical products – 1,3%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 18,8%, domestic trucks – 2,0 times, rubber tires – 1,6 times, furniture – 29,8%, washing machines – 34,1%, domestic refrigerators – 18,1%, while import of vegetable oils decreased by 7,7%, wheat – 5,9%, raw sugar and sugar 0,4%, fresh fruit - 2,0%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 12,1%, poultry meat and its additional products – 19,2%, beef – 42,8%, cigarettes – 9,0%, ferrous metal pipes – 35,8%, steel rolling – 39,9%, mineral fertilizers – 46,4%, air conditioners – 0,8%, ferrous metal rods – 69,7%, polyethylene – 38,5%, ferrous metal corners – 31,1%, busses - 36,6%, cement and cement clinker – 24,3%.
