The number of nights spent in hotels in the country in January-June 2021 increased by 18.6 percent compared with the same period of 2020 and amounted to 694.7 thousand. 51.7% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 8.5% in Gabala, 5.7% in Gusar, 5.2% in Guba, 4.9% in Lankaran, 4.2% in Shabran, 3.6% in Khachmaz, 2.8% in Naftalan, 2.0% in Shamakhi, 1.6% in Mingachevir, 1.2% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.1% in Masalli, 0.8% in Ganja, 0.7% in Gakh, 0.6% in Zagatala, 0.5% in Shamkir and 4.9% in other districts (cities).

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons decreased by 2.6 times compared with the same period of 2020 and amounted to 132.8 thousand, representing 19.1% of total nights. 15.7% of the nights were Turkish citizens, 15.2% - Great Britain, 10.0% - citizens of the Russian Federation, 5.1% - Italy, 4.3% - Germany, 2.9% - USA, 2.6% - Ukraine, 2.0% - Israel citizens, 2.0% - the Netherlands, 1.9% - Belarus, 1.7% - Kazakhstan, 1.5% - France, 1.3% - Norway, 33.8% - citizens of other countries.

85.5% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 5.2% in Gusar, 3.0% in Gabala, 1.7% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.2% in Shabran, 0.9% in Naftalan, 0.8% in Mingachevir, 0.8% in Guba, 0.9% in other districts and cities. The number of nights spent by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan increased by 2.3 times compared to January-June 2020 and amounted to 561.9 thousand.

In January-June 2021, hotels' revenues increased by 25.2 percent compared with the corresponding period of 2020 and amounted to 90.1 million manats, 61.1% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 28.3% for catering services, 2.0% for treatment and health services, and 8.6% for other services.

In January-June 2021, the average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 9.0% (7.6% in January-June 2020). This indicator was 47.1% in Shabran, 23.4% in Beylagan, 17.6% in Lankaran, 17.1% in Naftalan, 16.3% in Shamkir, 15.2% in Guba, 13.7% in Gabala, 12.8% in Barda, 12.8% in Jalilabad, 11.9% in Baku, 11.6% in Aghjabadi, 11.6% in Gusar, 10.8% in Shamakhi, while in other cities and regions it was below average.
