In January-March 2021 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 153 countries of the world, goods were exported to 89 countries and imported from 144 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country in January-March 2021 made 7036,8 million USD. 4506,3 million USD or 64,0% of trade turnover made the export value, 2530,5 (36,0%) million USD – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 1975,8 million USD. In comparison with January-March 2020 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 4,9%, while decreased in real terms by 15,1%, including import – 24,3%, export - 9,1%.

In January-March 2021 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, increased in actual price by 17,0%, in real terms by 3,7% and made 501,5 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 35,5% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 17,9% - Turkey, 8,4% - India, 6,3% - Georgia, 4,4% - Spain, 3,3% – Russia, , per 3,0% - Israel, Portugal and Ukraine, 2,8% - China, 2,1% - UK, 1,9% - Belarus, 1,5% - Croatia, per 1,1% - Switzerland and Germany and the rest 4,7% - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Turkey (32,5%), Russia (25,9%), Switzerland (8,9%), Georgia (7,6%), USA (3,7%), China (2,3%), Belgium (1,8%), Turkmenistan (1,6%), Ukraine (1,5%), Germany (1,3%), Italy (1,3%), Iran (1,1%), Kazakhstan (1,0%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil gas products.

17,8% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 15,0% – Turkey, 12,3% - China, 7,3% – Germany, 4,6% - USA, 3,9% – Ukraine, 3,8% – Iran, 3,2% - Italy, 3,0% - UK, per 1,8% – Korea and Japan, 1,6% - Brazil, 1,5% – India, per 1,4% - France and Norway and 19,6% - other countries.

In January-March 2021 compared to the corresponding period of previous year export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 41,8%, sugar – 2,5 times, vegetable oils – 37,5%, fruit and vegetable juice – 37,0%, potato – 1,6 times, natural grape wine and cellar – 1,9 times, cotton fiber – 1,6 times, polyethylene – 8,8%, cotton yarn – 6,3%, bentonite clay – 8,6%, while export of fresh vegetable decreased by 37,3%, tea – 18,3%, fruit and vegetable cans – 5,0%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 22,2%, tobacco – 58,5%, unprocessed aluminum – 23,5%, ferrous metal pipes – 36,7%.

In January-March 2021 compared to January-March 2020 import of vegetable oils increased by 47,6%, wheat – 13,0%, raw sugar and sugar 3,9 times, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 5,1%, potato – 0,6%, fresh vegetable – 2,0 times, cigarettes – 14,8%, medical products – 30,8%, rubber tires – 10,6%, mineral fertilizers – 17,8%, domestic trucks – 28,5%, air conditioners – 1,6 times, domestic refrigerators – 29,0%, while import of fresh fruit decreased by 3,4%, tea – 5,2%, beef – 23,6%, poultry meat and its additional products – 22,8%, motor cars – 1,4%, ferrous metal pipes – 38,2%, steel rolling – 58,1%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 4,0%, ferrous metal rods – 57,4%, furniture – 10,9%, washing machines – 8,5%, polyethylene – 47,4%, ferrous metal corners – 39,7%, busses - 39,4%, cement and cement clinker – 39,7%.
