The next meeting of the statistical Council under the State Statistical Committee was held

The next meeting of the statistical Council under the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in videoconference format on November 27.

Prior to the start of the event, the memory of our sons and daughters that martyred in the 44 days of Patriotic War to ensure the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, Mr Tahir Budagov greeted the members of the Council and congratulated them on the glorious victory in the Patriotic War thanks to the iron will, unshakeable determination and great leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, our Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr Ilham Aliyev.

Tahir Budagov gave information about the issues on the agenda of the meeting and mentioned that, substantial measures are being taken to develop official statistics in accordance with international standards, improve the provision of information to assess the achievement of goals and priorities set out in the strategic roadmaps, expand the use of administrative data sources and further accelerate the reforms in the national statistical system.

Then, reports were heard on the activities of the State Statistical Committee in the field of international cooperation and the implementation of the Quality Management System, projects of the national “Statistical classification of industrial products” and statistical work program for 2021 were submitted for discussion by the council members.

It was stated that, according to the results of certification conducted by the audit team of the Swiss company SGS in March of this year to verify the compliance of the activities of the State Statistical Committee with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System, both administration of the Committee and 17 local statistical bodies were awarded the certificate of international compliance in the field of "Production and dissemination of official statistical data”. Thus, the number of local statistical bodies awarded with the International Certificate of Compliance had reached 30. 

Proposals on the subject were submitted and relevant decisions were made at the meeting of the council which continued through discussions.
