On January-May 2020 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 166 countries of the world, goods were exported to 98 countries and imported from 155 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January-May 2020 made 9852,5 million USD. 5687,4 million USD or 57,7% of trade turnover made the export value, 4165,1 (42,3%) million USD – import value and consequently positive trade balance reached to 1522,3 million USD. In comparison with January-May 2019 foreign trade turnover decreased in actual price by 30,1 %, in real terms by 19,0%, including import – 42,7%, export - 2,2%.

On January-May 2020 the export of non-oil gas products, compared to January-May 2019, decreased in actual price by 8,9%, in real terms by 14,5% and made 721,5 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 34,8% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 17,9% - Turkey, 4,5% – Israel, 4,1 % – India, 4,0% – Russia, 3,5% – Greece, per 3,0% – Croatia and Ukraine, 2,8% – Georgia, 2,7% - China, 2,3% - Czech Republic, 2,0% – Tunisia, 1,9% – Portugal, per 1,6% – Germany and Vietnam, and the rest 10,3% - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (37,6%), Turkey (20,0%), Switzerland (9,9%), Georgia (9,8%), China (3,3%), Italy (2,5%), Ukraine (2,4%), Kazakhstan (1,7%), Iran (1,2%), USA (1,1%), Belarus (1,0%), Germany (1,0%), Turkmenistan (1,0%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil products.

18,5% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 14,7% – Turkey, 13,0% - China, 8,6% - USA, 5,3% – Germany, 4,3% – Ukraine, 4,1% – Italy, 2,8% – Iran, 2,6% – UK, 1,9% – Japan, 1,7% – Korea, 1,6% – France, and 20,9% - other countries.

On January-May 2020 compared to January-May 2019 export of main types of products like potato increased by 7,7%, fruit and vegetable juice - 5,1%, vegetable oils – 1,9 times, tea - 7,5%, fruit and vegetable cans – 1,1%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 1,7 times, polyethylene – 42,2%, ferrous metal pipes – 1,7 times, while export of fresh vegetable decreased by 1,8%, fresh fruit - 33,3%, sugar – 12,7%, tobacco – 25,9%, natural grape wine and cellar – 49,3%, cotton fiber – 26,6%, cotton yarn – 18,8%, unprocessed aluminum – 15,9%, bentonite clay – 5,2%.

On January-May 2020 compared to January-May 2019 import of fresh fruit increased by 15,9%, vegetable oils – 23,8%, butter other milk fats and pastas – 32,5%, tea – 5,2%, beef – 35,2%, poultry meat and its additional products – 4,5%, fresh vegetable – 25,2%, motor cars – 30,0%, medical products – 1,7 times, steel rolling – 29,4%, ferrous metal rods – 48,3%, mineral fertilizers – 2,1%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 26,5%, ferrous metal corners – 2,3%, busses - 1,4%, domestic refrigerators – 39,1%, cement and cement clinker – 1,5%, while import of wheat decreased by 38,0%, raw sugar and sugar – 6,5%, potato – 0,6%, cigarettes – 79,2%, ferrous metal pipes – 7,7%, rubber tires – 17,5%, furniture – 21,2%, domestic trucks – 12,6%, polyethylene – 14,3%, air conditioners – 35,1% washing machines – 7,3%.
