Retail trade turnover

In January-April 2020, 11516,1 million manats, including 6169,7 million manats food products, beverages and tobacco products, 5346,4 million manats non-food products were sold to the population in retail trade network. In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the implementation of a special regime in the trade sector has weakened business activity in this area, especially in the sale of non-food products and the retail trade turnover decreased by 33,1 percent, including 38,6 percent on non-food products in April compared to March of current year. Generally, in January-April of current year compared to the corresponding period of 2019 the trade turnover decreased by 1,9 percent, including 6,5 percent in non-food products, while 2,6 percent increased in food products, beverages and tobacco products. Electronic trade turnover was more for 1,6 times compared to January-April of the previous year.    

In January-April 2020, 23.9 percent of consumer goods in real terms have been sold by trade enterprises, 48.3 percent - private entrepreneurs, 27.8 percent were sold in markets and fairs. Retail trade turnover in real terms compared to January-April 2019 increased by 17,5 percent - for enterprises, decreased by 1.2 percent - for private entrepreneurs, 15.1 percent - for markets and fairs.    

In the reporting period, retail trade turnover in average per capita made 289.1 manats or more for 1.5 manats in nominal terms than the indicator of corresponding period of 2019. In the trade network at average monthly per country citizen there have been purchased food products, beverages and tobacco products in amount of 154.9 manats and non-food products in amount of 134.2 manats.

In the reporting period, 53.6 percent of resources the consumers spent to purchasing of food products, beverages and tobacco products for final consumption purposes, 14.0 percent - textile products, clothes and shoes, 5.4 percent - gasoline and diesel fuel, 5.1 percent - electrical appliances and furniture, 1.8 percent - pharmaceutical products and medical equipments, 0.7 percent - computers, telecommunication equipment and printing products and 19.4 percent - other non-food products.
