On January-February 2020 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 144 countries of the world, goods were exported to 85 countries and imported from 136 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January-February 2020 made 4883,0 million USD. 3095,9 million USD or 63,4 percent of trade turnover made the value of exported goods and 1787,1 million USD (36,6 percent) of imported goods, consequently positive balance reached to 1308,8 million USD. In comparison with January-February 2019 foreign trade turnover decreased in actual prices by 6,3 percent, in real terms by 14,8 percent, including import – 34,5 percent, export – 1,0 percent.

On January-February 2020 export of non-oil-gas products increased by 5,2 percent in actual prices and being decreased by 3,4 percent in real terms amounted to 295,8 million USD compared to January-February 2019.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 45,9 percent of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 9,6 percent – Turkey, 6,7 percent – Israel, 4,6 percent – Greece, 3,7 percent – Tunisia, 3,2 percent Czech Republic, 2,9 percent – Germany, per 2,8 percent - Russia and Georgia, 2,7 percent – Ukraine, 2,0 percent – China, 1,8 percent – Portugal and the rest 11,3 percent - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (29,8 percent), Turkey (25,5 percent), Georgia (11,8 percent), Switzerland (9,7 percent), China (2,6 percent), Italy (2,1 percent), Ukraine (1,9 percent), Iran (1,9 percent), Kazakhstan (1,9 percent), Greece (1,4 percent), Germany (1,3 percent), and was prevailed in export value on non- oil-gas products.

14,7 percent of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of China, 14,3 percent – Russia, 14,0 percent – USA,  13,2 percent – Turkey, 5,3 percent – Germany, 4,6 percent – Italy, 3,4 percent – Ukraine, 2,9 percent – Iran, per 2,2 percent – Turkmenistan and United Kingdom, per 1,9 percent – Korea and Japan, 1,3 percent – France, 18,1 percent - other countries.

On January-February 2020 compared to January-February 2019 export of main types of products like sugar increased by 3,8 percent, vegetable oils – 2,7 times, fruit and vegetable cans – 1,8 times, fruit and vegetable juice – 34,1 percent, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 2,2 times, potato – 1,6 times, cotton fiber – 16,1 percent, polyethylene – 6,1 percent, unprocessed aluminum – 10,6 percent, cotton yarn – 1,8 times, ferrous metal pipes – 1,7 times, while fresh fruit decreased by 24,5 percent, fresh vegetable – 12,1 percent, tea – 10,7 percent, tobacco – 47,6 percent, natural grape wine and cellar – 73,1 percent, bentonite clay – 17,3 percent.   

On January-February 2020 compared to January-February 2019 import of vegetable oils increased by 0,7 percent, fresh fruit – 9,2 percent, potato – 1,5 percent, butter other milk fats and pastas – 21,4 percent, tea – 20,3 percent, beef – 7,2 percent, fresh vegetable – 25,3 percent, motor cars – 2,3 times, medicines – 26,6 percent, steel rolling – 45,6 percent, ferrous metal pipes – 14,5 percent, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 1,8 times, ferrous metal rods – 2,0 times, rubber tires – 5,1 percent, trucks – 1,9 times, furniture – 0,4 percent, busses – 1,7 times, polyethylene – 3,5 percent, washing machines – 12,5 percent, domestic refrigerators – 1,7 times, while wheat decreased by 60,7 percent, poultry meat and its additional products – 25,5 percent, raw sugar and sugar – 74,3 percent, cigarette – 88,1 percent, mineral fertilizers – 58,5 percent, ferrous metal corners – 31,2 percent, air conditioners – 66,1 percent, cement and cement clinker – 12,3 percent.
