On 2019 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 195 countries of the world, goods were exported to 125 countries and imported from 185 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on 2019 made 33138,5 million USD, including export value – 19471,3 million USD, import value – 13667,2 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 5804,1 million USD. In comparison with 2018 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 4,3 percent, in real terms decreased by 3,7 percent, including import – 6,5 percent, export – 2,0 percent. During this period non-oil products value- 1954,4 million USD were exported from the country, in actual terms 13,9 percent, in real terms 7,8 percent more compared to the 2018.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 28,7 percent of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 14,6 percent - Turkey, 6,8 percent – Israel, 4,9 percent – India, 4,7 percent - Germany, 3,8 percent – China, 3,7 percent – Russia, 3,6 percent - Spain, 3,3 percent Czech Republic, 3,0 percent – Georgia, 2,7 percent – France, 2,4 percent UK, 2,2 percent – Croatia, 1,8 percent – Tailand and Portugal, 1,7 percent - Ukraine and the rest 10,3 percent - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (35,3%), Turkey (20,6%), Switzerland (9,2%), Georgia (8,1%), Ukraine (2,6%), Italy (2,2%), China (1,9%), Greece (1,8%), Uzbekistan (1,4%) and Iran (1,4%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil products.

16,8 percent of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 12,0 percent – Turkey, 10,5 percent - China, 9,0 percent - Switzerland, 5,6 percent - USA, 5,2 percent Germany, 3,4 percent – Ukraine, 3,3 percent – Iran, 2,9 percent – Canada, 2,7 percent – Italy, 2,2 percent – Australia, 1,8 percent - France, 1,7 percent UK, 1,6 percent - Japan, 21,3 percent - other countries.

On 2019 compared to 2018 export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 5,4 percent, sugar – 40,8 percent, tobacco – 1,6 times, fruit and vegetable juice – 31,8 percent, tea - 10,2 percent, fruit and vegetable cans – 3,6 percent, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 21,3 percent, cotton fibre – 16 times, unprocessed aluminum – 32,9 percent, polyethylene – 8,8 percent, cotton yarn – 34,9 percent, bentonite clay – 19,1 percent, while fresh vegetable decreased by 5,2 percent, potato - 7,2 percent, vegetable oils – 24,2 percent, natural grape wine and cellar – 19,1 percent, semi-finished ferrous metals – 37,6 percent, ferrous metal pipes – 82,5 percent.

On 2019 compared to 2018 import of wheat decreased by 46,6%, raw sugar and sugar – 45,1%, fresh fruit – 3,5%, vegetable oils – 8,9%, butter other milk fats and pastas – 15,8%, tea – 8,8%, potato – 27,6%, poultry meat and its additional products – 10,6%, beef – 5,8%, fresh vegetable – 17,9%, motor cars – 1,7 times, steel rolling – 29,7%, mineral fertilizers – 17,0 times, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 16,8%, rubber tyres – 17,9%, busses – 1,8 times, furniture – 4,2%, domestic trucks – 1,6 times, polyethylene – 20,9%, air conditioners – 54,2%, washing machines – 6,6%, ferrous metal corners – 19,0%, ferrous metal pipes – 12,2%, cement and cement clinker – 5,2%, domestic refrigerator – 9,6%.
