On January-September 2019 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 186 countries of the world, goods were exported to 113 countries and imported from 177 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January-September 2019 made 24837,2 million USD, including export value – 14459,2 million USD, import value – 10378,0 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 4081,2 million USD. In comparison with January-September 2018 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 7,2 percent, in real terms 1,4 percent, including import – 3,4 percent, export – 0,3 percent. During this period non-oil products value-1413,1 million USD were exported from the country, in actual terms 17,1 percent, in real terms 12,1 percent more than the same period of last year..

According to the State Customs Committee data, 28,5 percent of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 14,8 percent - Turkey, 7,2 percent – Israel, 5,5 percent – India, 4,9 percent - Germany, 4,7 percent - China, 3,6 percent – Spain, 3,4 percent – Russia, 3,0 percent – France, 2,9 percent Czech Republic, 2.8 percent – Georgia, 2,6 percent UK, 2,4 percent – Portugal, 1,9 percent - Ukraine and the rest 11,8 percent - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (33,0%), Turkey (21,5%), Switzerland (8,9%), Georgia (8,7%), Italy (2,4%), Ukraine (2,3%), Greece (2,3%), China (2,2%), Iran (1,5%) and Netherlands (1,4%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil products.

15,5 percent of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 11,6 percent - Switzerland, 11,1 percent - Turkey, 9,3 percent - China, 6,3 percent - USA, 4,9 percent Germany, 3,8 percent – Canada, 3,5 percent – Iran, 3,3 percent - Ukraine, 2,8 percent – Australia, 2,6 percent - Italy, 1,9 percent - France, 1,7 percent UK, 1,6 percent - Kazakhstan, 20,1 percent - other countries.

On January-September 2019 compared to January-September 2018 export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 21,5 percent, sugar – 49,5 percent, tobacco – 2,0 times, fruit and vegetable juice – 33,7 percent, tea - 7,0 percent, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 49,6 percent, cotton fibre – 47,2 percent, cotton yarn – 38,1 percent, unprocessed aluminum – 24,1 percent, polyethylene – 2,5 percent, bentonite clay – 17,2 percent, while fresh vegetable decreased by 3,0 percent, potato - 7,2 percent, vegetable oils – 17,2 percent, fruit and vegetable cans – 0,4 percent, natural grape wine and cellar – 18,7 percent, semi-finished ferrous metals – 3,6 percent, ferrous metal pipes – 81,9 percent.

On January-September 2019 compared to January-September 2018 import of wheat increased by 34,2%, raw sugar and sugar – 39,9%, fresh fruit – 2,7%, vegetable oils – 6.0 percent, butter other milk fats and pastas – 13,0%, tea – 2,5 percent, poultry meat and its additional products – 9,6%, potato – 23,9%, beef – 13,2%, fresh vegetable – 36,3%, motor cars – 1,9 times, steel rolling – 25,6 percent, mineral fertilizers – 47,6%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 35,5%, rubber tyres – 12,7%, furniture – 9,6%, busses – 3,4 times, air conditioners – 1,6 times, polyethylene – 27,8%, domestic trucks – 3,7 times, washing machines – 9,3%, ferrous metal corners – 13,2%, while import of cigarette  decreased by 49,1%, ferrous metal pipes – 13,6%, ferrous metal rods – 20,0%, cement and cement clinker – 17,8%, domestic refrigerator – 17,1%.
