Traffic accidents occurred on the highways in January-September 2019

 In January-September 2019, the country's automobile roads suffered a traffic accident of 1274, or 0.8 percent less than in 2018, the number of victims of these events dropped by 2.0 percent to 1735. 557 of suffered persons died and 1178 of them were injured. 46.2% of accidents happened in the daytime, 36.1% - at night time, 17.7% - during twilight; 29.1% of accidents occurred on Saturdays and Sundays.

88.5% of traffic accidents happened in settlements; number of persons died as a result of these accidents compared to the corresponding period of previous year decreased by 2.0% and made 399 persons, number of injured persons decreased by 3.2% and made 1135 persons.

42.0 of all traffic accidents happened with participation of transport means and pedestrians, 34.7% - several transport means, 23.3% - one mode of transport.

79.0% of persons died and 74.2% of injured as a result of traffic accidents were men.

17 accidents occurred because of drunk driving and caused death or injury, where 7 persons died, 14 persons injured. 70.6% of such accidents have been committed by drivers of motor-cars.
