On January-September 2019, 2666.7 thousand nights were spent on hotels, which is 9.0 percent more than the corresponding period of previous year. 55.7% of the nights in hotels were registered in Baku, 9.4% in Gabala, 9.0% in Guba, 5.5% in Khachmaz, 3.4% in Naftalan, 2.8% in Gusar, 2.5% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 1.2% in Gakh, per 1.0% in Mingachevir, and Lankaran, 8.5% in other districts (cities).

The number of nights spent by foreigners and stateless persons amounted to 1743.9 thousand, representing 65.4% of total nights which is 5.6% more than the corresponding period of previous year. 15.6% of the nights were citizens of the Saudi Arabia, 11.1% - United Arab Emirates, 10.4% - Russian Federation, 5.8% - Israel citizens, 5.5% - India, 5.1% - Iranian citizens, 4.6% - Turkish citizens, 3.6% - citizens of Kuwait, 3.1% - Great Britain, per 2.0% - USA and Qatar citizens, 1.9% - Pakistan, 1.6% - China, 1.4% - Iraq, 1.3% - Kazakhstan, per 1.1% - Germany and Bahrain, 22.8% - citizens of other countries.

76.2% of the nights in hotels spent by foreigners and stateless persons were registered in Baku city, 10.0% in Gabala, 3.7% in Guba, 2.8% in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 2.7% - in Naftalan city, 4.6% in other districts and cities. The number of nights spent by the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan amounted to 922.8 thousand which is 16.1% more compared to January-September 2018.

During nine months of current year, hotels' revenues amounted to 334.0 million manat or 16.7% more than the corresponding period of previous year, 66.9% of which were services for the provision of rooms, 25.1% of the services on the sale of food products, including beverages, 2.2% for treatment and health services, and 5.8% from other services.

In January-September 2019, the average level of use of the number of hotels in the country was 23.6% (21.9% on January-September of 2018). This indicator was 54.3% in Guba, 53.7% in Naftalan, 50.6% in Shabran, 40.8% in Gabala, 32.6% in Baku, 32.0% in Beylagan, while in other cities and regions it was below average. The highest average level of use of the number of hotels was in August – 46.4%.
