According to the State Border Service data, on January-September 2019 Azerbaijan received from 191 countries of the world 2418.3 thousand or 9.5 percent more foreigners and stateless persons compared with the January-September 2018. 30.0 percent of the arrivals were from Russian Federation, 22.0 percent – Georgia, 9.7 percent - Turkey, 8.2 percent - Iran, 3.9 percent - Saudi Arabia, 2.1 percent the United Arab Emirates, 1.9 percent India, per 1.8 percent – Iraq and Ukraine, 1.6 percent – Turkmenistan, per 1.5 percent – Israel and Kazakhstan, 1.4 percent – Pakistan, 1.2 percent - Great Britain, 11.3 percent were citizens of other countries, 0.1 percent were stateless people. 65.9 percent of the arrivals were men and 34.1 percent were women.

There has been a significant increase in the number of visitors in January-September among Turkmenistan (96,0 percent), India (70,1 percent), Egypt (66,3 percent), China (63,7 percent), Saudi Arabia (42,0 percent), Philippines (39,4 percent), Hungary (34,8 percent), Poland (32,0 percent), Malaysia (27,3 percent), Great Britain (27,0 percent), Spain (26,7 percent), South Korea (22,4 percent), Georgia (21,6 percent) and Germany (21,6 percent) citizens.

On January-September 2019, the number of arrivals from EU members increased by 24,0 percent and amounted to 110,3 thousand and from the CIS countries it increased by 8,3 percent and amounted to 880,9 thousand persons.

57,9 percent of foreigners and stateless persons who came to our country used railway and automobile, 41,3 percent - air and 0,8 percent - water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad in January-September 2019 increased by 17,9 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted 4201,5 thousand persons. 36,3 percent of the country citizens traveled to Iran, 29,0 percent - Georgia, 17,5 percent - Russian Federation, 11,8 percent - Turkey, 5,4 percent to other countries. 63,8 percent of the travelers were men and 36,2 percent were women.

During this period, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 39,1 percent, Georgia – by 12,7 percent, Russian Federation – by 6,5 percent, Turkey – 4,7 percent.

In January-September 2019, 82,1 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries using railway and automobile, 17,2 percent - air and 0,7 percent- water transport.
