On January-August 2019 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 182 countries of the world, goods were exported to 110 countries and imported from 173 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January-August 2019 made 22340,7 million USD, including export value – 12958,8 million USD, import value – 9381,9 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 3576,9 million USD. In comparison with January-August 2018 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 10,1 percent, in real terms 3,2 percent, including import – 8,0 percent, export – 0,8 percent. During this period non-oil products  value-1277,4 million USD were exported from the country, in actual terms 16,8 percent, in real terms 12,2 percent more than the same period of last year..

According to the State Customs Committee data, 28,6 percent of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 12,9 percent - Turkey, 7,1 percent – Israel, per 5,6 percent – India, 5,1  percent - China, 4,8 percent - Germany, 4,0 percent – Spain, per 3,4 percent – Russia, 3,3 percent – France, 3,2 percent Czech Republic, 3,1 percent – Georgia, 2,3 percent UK, 2,2 percent – Portugal, 2,0 percent - Ukraine and the rest 12,6 percent - other countries.

The share of goods sent to Russia (33,4 %), Turkey (21,8 %), Switzerland (8,7 %), Georgia (8,7 %), Italy (2,6 %), Ukraine (2,3 %), Greece (2,3 %), China (2,0 %), Iran (1,6 %) and Netherlands (1,4%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil products.

14,6 percent of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 12,7 percent - Switzerland, 10,4 percent - Turkey, 9,1 percent - China, 6,3 percent - USA, 5,0 percent Germany, 4,2 percent – Canada, 3,6 percent – Iran, 3,2 percent - Ukraine, 3,1 percent – Australia, 2,6 percent - Italy, 2,0 percent - France, 1,7 percent UK, 1,6 percent - Kazakhstan, 19,9 percent - other countries.

On January-August 2019 compared to January-August of 2018 export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 23,5 percent, sugar – 1,6 times, tobacco – 2,0 times, fruit and vegetable juice – 367,0 percent, tea - 9,1 percent, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 47,7 percent, cotton fibre – 1,6 times, cotton yarn – 43,7 percent, unprocessed aluminum – 15,2 percent, semi-finished ferrous metals – 10,4 percent, bentonite clay – 13,3 percent, fresh vegetable decreased by 1,1 percent, potato - 7,4 percent, fruit and vegetable cans – 3,5 percent, vegetable oils – 29,6 percent, natural grape wine and cellar – 20,2 percent, polyethylene – 2,9 percent, ferrous metal pipes – 82,5 percent.

On January-August 2019 compared to January-August 2018 import of wheat increased by 9,2%, raw sugar and sugar – 50,0%, fresh fruit – 4,1%, other milk fats and pastas – 5,1%, poultry meat and its additional products – 11,3%, potato – 7,9%, beef – 14,6%, fresh vegetable – 39,1%, motor cars – 1,9 times, ferrous metal rods – 24,4%, mineral fertilizers – 35,7%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 26,1%, rubber tyres – 10,4%, furniture – 6,1%, air conditioners – 1,6 times, polyethylene – 32,5%, domestic trucks – 1,7 times, busses – 2,5 times, washing machines – 15,7%, ferrous metal corners – 16,0%, while import of vegetable oils decreased by 2,2%, cigarette – 46,5%, tea – 0,1%, metal pipes – 12,8%, ferrous steel rolling – 19,1 percent, cement and cement clinker – 24,7%, domestic refrigerator – 19,2%.
