Mr Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee is attending the international event in Chisinau.

High Level Seminar on “Next Step in Statistical Cooperation” for the top management of the National Statistical Institutes of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asian countries is held on 24-26 September 2019 in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. Mr Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan represents our country in this event.

The event will review the financial, economic and technical report of the European Economic Commission on "Statistics through the Eastern Partnership (STEP)" Project. Also, the activities of the European Statistical Office, the European Free Trade Association, the UN Economic Commission for Europe in statistical cooperation with Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asian countries, the implementation of recommendations of global assessments, the Generic Law on Official Statistics, and the Conference of European Statisticians Recommendations for the 2020 Censuses of Population and Housing, new technologies applied to improve the quality of official statistics and recent actions on improving the national statistical system will be discussed.

During the visit, it is considered to discuss the issues on expanding the existing relations between the State Statistical Committee and the statistical offices of the partner countries, and perspectives of mutual cooperation.
