According to the State Border Service data, on January-July 2019 Azerbaijan received from 187 countries of the world 1777.4 thousand or 7.4 percent more foreigners and stateless persons compared with the January- July 2018. 30,6 percent of the arrivals were from Russian Federation, 22,8 percent – Georgia, 9,9 percent - Turkey, 7,2 percent - Iran, 3,6 percent - Saudi Arabia, 2,3 percent the United Arab Emirates, per 1.9 percent – Ukraine and India, per 1.5 percent – Turkmenistan and Iraq, per 1.4 percent – Kazakhstan, Israel and Pakistan, 1,3 percent - Great Britain, 11,2 percent were citizens of other countries, 0.1 percent were stateless people. 66,8 percent of the arrivals were men and 33,2 percent were women.

There has been a significant increase in the number of visitors in January-July among Egypt (83,2 percent), India (80,6 percent), Turkmenistan (78,5 percent), China (74.3 percent), Saudi Arabia (48.8 percent), Hungary (48,1 percent), Great Britain (30,9 percent), South Korea (30,9 percent), Japan (29,3 percent), Poland (27,7 percent), Canada (25,2 percent), Germany (25,1 percent) and Georgia (23,4 percent) citizens.

On January-July 2019, the number of arrivals from EU members increased by 26,3 percent and amounted to 83,2 thousand and from the CIS countries it increased by 6,7 percent and amounted to 655,1 thousand persons.

57,8 percent of foreigners and stateless persons who came to our country used railway and automobile, 41,4 percent - air and 0,8 percent - water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad in January-July 2019 increased by 23,9 percent compared to the correspondent period of the previous year and amounted 3115,1 thousand persons. 37,8 percent of the country citizens traveled to Iran, 28,1 percent - Georgia, 17,7 percent - Russian Federation, 11,0 percent - Turkey, 5,4 percent to other countries. 64,7 percent of the travelers were men and 35,3 percent were women.

During this period, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 61,8 percent, Georgia – by 12,4 percent, Russian Federation – by 7,7 percent, Turkey – 3,7 percent.

In January-July 2019, 82,7 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries using railway and automobile, 16,5 percent - air and 0,8 percent- water transport.
