On January-April 2019 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 161 countries of the world, goods were exported to 97 countries and imported from 151 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January-April 2019 made 10965.2 million USD, including export value – 6415.8 million USD, import value – 4549.4 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 1866.4 million USD. In comparison with January-April 2018 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 17.7 percent, including import – 50.3 percent, export – 1.9 percent. In real terms trade turnover increased by 7.3 percent, including import - by 19.5 percent and export – 1.4 percent.  

According to the State Customs Committee data, 29.8 percent of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 10.7 percent - Turkey, 7.8 percent - China, 6.3 percent – Israel, 5.3 percent - Germany, 5.1 percent – Spain, 4.7 percent - India, 3.6 percent – France, 3.3 percent - Czech Republic, 3.1 percent – Georgia, 3.0 percent - Portugal, 2.5 percent - Russia and the rest 14.8 percent - other countries.

16.2 percent of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Switzerland, 14.5 percent - Russia, 9.7 percent - Turkey, 8.3 percent - China, 5.3 percent – Iran, 4.6 percent Germany, 4.2 percent - USA, 3.1 percent - Ukraine, per 2.8 percent – Italy and Canada, 2.7 percent – Australia, 2.3 percent Kazakhstan, 23.5 percent - other countries.

On January-April 2019 non-oil products in amount of 582.7 million US dollars have been exported and that is more in actual prices for 20.1 percent and real terms for 14.4 percent relatively to January- April 2018. The share of goods sent to Russia (28.3%), Turkey (25.4%), Georgia (10.7%), Switzerland (7.7%), Italy (3.8%), Greece (2.6%), Ukraine (2.3%), China (2.1%), Iran (2.0%) and Germany (1.7%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil products.

On January-April 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 32.7 percent, fresh vegetable – 30.6 percent, tobacco – 2.0 times, fruit and vegetable juice – 38.6 percent, fruit and vegetable cans – 10.0 percent, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 4.0 percent, cotton fibre – 3.2 times, cotton yarn – 44.8 percent, semi-finished ferrous metals – 5.6 times, bentonite clay – 31.0 percent, while export of sugar decreased by 18.4 percent, tea – 12.1 percent, potato – 24.3 percent, vegetable oils – 2.4 percent, natural grape wine and cellar – 19.1 percent, polyethylene – 5.5 percent, unprocessed aluminum – 7.5 percent, ferrous metal pipes – 77.9 percent.

On January-April 2019 compared to January-April 2018 import of wheat increased by 27.5%, fresh fruit – 5.4 percent, raw sugar and sugar – 5.1 times, potato – 15.8%, tea – 5.9%, poultry meat and its additional products – 41.3%, beef – 9.9%, fresh vegetable – 33.4%, motor cars – 2.2 times, ferrous metal pipes – 2.9%, ferrous metal rods – 46.9%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 47.8%, furniture – 20.7%, polyethylene – 26.0%, trucks – 2.0 times, domestic air conditioners – 2.0 times, ferrous metal corners – 18.9%, busses – 2.3 times, while import of vegetable oils decreased by 16.4%, cigarette – 32.3%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 4.8%, steel rolling – 10.3 percent, mineral fertilizers – 12.5 percent, rubber tyres – 0.3%, washing machines – 7.7%, cement and cement clinker – 30.0%, domestic refrigerator – 3.3%.
