On January-March 2019 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 155 countries of the world, goods were exported to 95 countries and imported from 145 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January-March 2019 made 7979.0 million USD, including export value – 4843.4 million USD, import value – 3135.6 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 1707.8 million USD. In comparison with January-March 2018 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 15.7 percent, including import – 43.1 percent, export - 3.0 percent. In real terms trade turnover increased by 6.4 percent, including import - by 13.7 percent and export – 3.0 percent.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 31.2 percent of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 11.3 percent - Turkey, 6.4 percent - Germany, 6.1 percent - China, 5.8 percent – Spain, 5.6 percent - India, 4.7 percent – Israel, 3.5 percent – Georgia, 3.3 percent - Czech Republic, 3.2 percent - Portugal, 2.8 percent - Russia, 2.6 percent - Austria, 2.0 percent – Greece and the rest 11.5 percent - other countries.

14.0 percent of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 13.1 percent - Switzerland, 9.8 percent - Turkey, 8.7 percent - China, 7.0 percent – Iran, 4.0 percent Canada, per 3.9 percent – Germany and Australia, 3.6 percent - USA, 3.1 percent - Ukraine, 2.6 percent – Italy, per 2.0 percent Belarus and Kazakhstan, 22.3 percent - other countries.

On January-March 2019 non-oil products in amount of 415.3 million US dollars have been exported and that is more in actual prices for 16.5 percent and real terms for 10.9 percent relatively to January- March 2018. The share of goods sent to Russia (27.8%), Turkey (23.9%), Georgia (12.1%), Switzerland (8.1%), Italy (3.1%), Greece (2.9%), China (2.5%), Iran (2.3%), Germany (2.2%) and Ukraine (2.0%) was prevailed in export value on non-oil products.

On January-March 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 25.7 percent, fresh vegetable – 38.9 percent, tobacco – 35.8 percent, fruit and vegetable juice – 37.8 percent, cotton fibre – 3.1 times, unprocessed aluminum – 10.0 percent, cotton yarn – 36.1 percent, semi-finished ferrous metals – 4.5 times,  bentonite clay – 1.8 times, while export of sugar decreased by 13.4 percent, tea – 10.3 percent, fruit and vegetable cans – 11.9 percent, natural grape wine and cellar – 14.2 percent, vegetable oils – 22.4 percent, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 0.2 percent, potato – 24.6 percent, polyethylene – 1.0 percent, ferrous metal pipes – 75.9 percent.

On January-March 2019 compared to January-March 2018 import of wheat increased by 28.4%, fresh fruit – 2.9 percent, raw sugar and sugar – 4.9 times, potato – 24.5%, poultry meat and its additional products – 2.0 times, beef – 3.1%, motor cars – 2.3 times, mineral fertilizers – 9.8 percent, ferrous metal rods – 32.5%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 48.5%, furniture – 32.2%, polyethylene – 38.2%, trucks – 2.0 times, ferrous metal corners – 40.2%, domestic air conditioners – 2.8 times, busses – 2.3 times, while import of vegetable oils decreased by 27.9%, cigarette – 21.3%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 23.9%, tea – 11.9%, fresh vegetable – 19.0%, ferrous metal pipes – 9.6%, steel rolling – 16.3 percent, rubber tyres – 5.2%, washing machines – 13.9%, cement and cement clinker – 39.6%, domestic refrigerator – 14.5%.
