According to the State Border Service data, on January-February 2019 Azerbaijan received from 152 countries of the world 364.2 thousand or 3.3 percent more foreigners and stateless persons compared with the January-February 2018. 29.8 percent of the arrivals were from Georgia, 27.6 percent - the Russian Federation, 12.0 percent - Turkey, 5.8 percent - Iran, 3.6 percent the United Arab Emirates, 1.8 percent - Ukraine, 1.7 percent – India, 1.5 percent – Pakistan, 1.4 percent - Iraq, 14,7 percent were citizens of other countries and 0.1 percent were stateless people. 72.0 percent of the arrivals were men and 28.0 percent were women.

There has been a significant increase in the number of visitors in January-February among Egypt (2.8 times), India (1.8 times), Pakistan (1.8 times), Turkmenistan (1.6 times), Hungary (47.7 percent), China (32.7 percent), Japan (32.3 percent), Oman (24.4 percent), South Korea (23.8 percent), Georgia (23.7 percent) and Poland (21.3 percent) citizens.

On January-February 2019, the number of arrivals from EU members increased by 1.6 percent and amounted to 11.5 thousand, and from the CIS countries decreased by 0.9 percent and amounted to 121.9 thousand persons.

63.9 percent of foreigners and stateless persons who came to our country used railway and automobile, 35.2 percent - air and 0.9 percent - water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad in January-February 2019 increased by 25.5 percent compared to the correspondent period of the previous year and amounted 731.6 thousand persons. 36.5 percent of the country citizens traveled to Iran, 26.2 percent - Georgia, 18.4 percent - Russian Federation, 9.8 percent - Turkey, 1.1 percent - Ukraine, 1.0 percent - United Arab Emirates, 7.0 percent to other countries. 67.7 percent of the travelers were men and 32.3 percent were women.

During this period, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 83.8 percent, Russian Federation – by 7.3 percent, Georgia – by 7.0 percent, Turkey – 1.9 percent.

In January-February 2019, 83.0 percent of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries using railway and automobile, 16.7 percent - air and 0.9% - water transport.
