According to the State Border Service data, in January-November 2018, Azerbaijan received from 195 countries of the world 2633.5 thousand or 6.1% more foreigners and stateless persons compared to the same period of last year. 31.1% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 20.9% - Georgia, 10.1% - Turkey, 8.6% - Iran, 3.1% - the United Arab Emirates, 2.7% - Saudi Arabia, 2.4% - Iraq, 2.0% - Ukraine, 1.5% - Israel, 17.5% were citizens of other countries and 0.1 percent were stateless people. 65.7% of the arrivals were men and 34.3% were women. 7.1% of foreigners and stateless persons came to our country in January, 6.4% in February, 10.5% in March, 8.3% in April, 7.9% in May, 10.2% in June, 12.5% in July, 12.2% in August, 8.8% in September, 8.0% in October and 8.1% in November.

There has been a significant increase in the number of visitors from the Gulf countries (except Iran and the United Arab Emirates) in January-November 2018. Compared to January-November of last year, the number of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia citizens arriving in Azerbaijan has increased for 2.2 times, Bahrain – 2.1 times, Kuwait – 1.9 times, Qatar – 1.6 times, Iraq – 10.4% and Oman – 8.5%. The number of arrivals from Iran decreased by 33.4% and from the United Arab Emirates it decreased by 6.5%. The total number of visitors from the Gulf countries amounted to 518.1 thousand person, and in general, one out of every five person came to our country was from the Gulf countries.

In January-November 2018, the number of arrivals from EU members increased by 7.1% and amounted to 106.5 thousand, and from the CIS countries increased by 4.3% and amounted to 971.3 thousand person.

57.1% of foreigners and stateless persons who came to our country used railway and automobile, 41.9% - air and 1.0% - water transport.

The number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan going abroad in January-November 2018 increased by 18.5% compared to same period of last year and amounted 4464.5 thousand person. 33.3% of the country citizens traveled to Iran, 29.1% - Georgia, 18.9% - Russian Federation, 12.6% - Turkey, 1.5% - Ukraine, 0.9% - United Arab Emirates, 3.7% to other countries. 65.4% of the travelers were men and 34.6% were women.

During this period, the number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan traveling to Iran increased by 69.3%, Georgia – by 3.3%, Turkey – 0.4% and the number of people going to Russian Federation decreased by 0.3%.

In January-November 2018, 81.2% of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited foreign countries using railway and automobile, 18.0% - air and 0.8% - water transport.
