On January-October 2018 legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 187 countries of the world, goods were exported to 104 countries and imported from 171 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover of the country on January- October 2018 made 26534.3 million USD, including export value – 17281.7 million USD, import value – 9252.6 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 8029.1 million USD. In comparison with January-October 2017 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 36.4%, including export – 38.3% and import – 33.0%. In real terms trade turnover increased by 1.3%, including export - by 1.0% and import – 1.9%.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 27.7% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 9.3% - Turkey, 6.3% - Israel, 4.7% - India, per 4.5% - Czech Republic and Taiwan (province of China), 4.3% - Germany, 3.5% - Canada, 3.4% - Indonesia, 3.2% - Russia, 3.0% - Portugal, 2.8% - France, 2.7% - Georgia, 4.2% - Ukraine and the rest 20.1% - other countries.

16.0% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of Russia, 14.2% - Turkey, 10.3% - China, 5.7% - Germany, 4.9% - USA, 4.4% - Switzerland, 3.9% - Ukraine, 3.7% - Japan, 3.3% - Iran, 3.0% - Italy, 2.1% - United Kingdom, 1.8% - South Africa and 26.7% - other countries.

On January-October 2018 non-oil products in amount of 1351.1 million US dollars have been exported and that is more in actual price for 10.9% and real terms for 1.7% relatively to January-October 2017.

On January-October 2018 compared to the same period of 2017 export of main types of products like fresh fruits increased by 22.6%, potato – 15.5%, vegetable oils – 2.9%, natural grape wine and cellar – 2.0 times, fruit and vegetable cans – 10.2%, polyethylene – 21.9%, unprocessed aluminum – 16.8%, cotton yarn - 2.2 times, ferrous metal pipes – 5.1%, cotton fibre – 28.0%, while export of fresh vegetable decreased by 3.8%, sugar – 32.2%, tobacco – 14.8%, fruit and vegetable juice – 13.0%, tea – 23.7%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 8.7 %, semifinished ferrous metals – 61.1%, bentonite clay – 10.4%.

On January-October 2018 compared to January-October 2017 import of fresh fruit increased by 49.5%, tea – 0.4%, poultry meat and its additional products – 22.7%, ferrous metal pipes – 1.9 times, motor cars – 2.4 times, ferrous metal rods – 30.4%, mineral fertilizers – 59.7%, furniture – 28.1%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 14.0%, polyethylene – 31.5%, domestic air conditioners – 36.9%, trucks – 2.2 times, washing machine – 11.0%, cement and cement clinker – 51.2%, busses – 20.9%, domestic refrigerator – 1.9 times, while wheat import decreased by 0.4%, cigarette – 3.3%, vegetable oil – 0.7%, raw sugar and sugar – 40.2%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 19.6%, potato – 17.0%, beef – 10.2%, fresh vegetable – 45.1%, steel rolling – 10.3%, rubber tyres – 6.0%, ferrous metal corners – 2.9%.
