On January-September 2018, legal and natural entities of the Republic of Azerbaijan realized trade operations with their partners in 176 countries of the world; goods were exported to 102 countries and imported from 168 countries.

Taking into account value of statistically estimated exported crude oil and natural gas registered in the customs agencies but customs formalities of which not completed the foreign trade turnover on January-September 2018 made 23159.4 million USD, including export value – 15254.2 million USD, import value – 7905.2 million USD and consequently positive trade balance reached to 7349.0 million USD. In comparison with January-September 2017 foreign trade turnover increased in actual price by 34.3%, including export - by 37.9% and import – 28.0%. In real terms trade turnover decreased by 0.2%, including export - by 2.3%, while import increased by 0.9%.

According to the State Customs Committee data, 26.9% of export value was formed based on goods exported to Italy, 8.8% - Turkey, 7.0% - Israel, 5.2% - India, 4.7% - Czech Republic, 4.4% - Germany, 3.9% - Taiwan (the state of China), 3.8% - Indonesia, 3.6% - Canada, 3.3% - Portugal, 3.1% - Russia, per 2.7% - France and Georgia, 2.3% - Spain and the rest 17.6% - other countries.

15.8% of total value of goods imported to our country was per the share of import transactions with Russia, 14.2% - Turkey, 10.3% - China, 6.1% - Germany, 4.9% - USA, 4.0% - Ukraine, 3.3% - Japan, per 3.1% - Iran and Italy, 2.6% - Switzerland, 2.3%- United Kingdom, 2.1% - South African Republic, 28.2% - other countries.

On January-September 2018 non-oil products in amount of 1207.4 million USD have been exported and that is more in actual prices for 12.9% and in real terms for 3.5% relatively to January-September 2017.

On January-September 2018 compared to the same period of 2017 export of main types of products like fresh fruit increased by 30.3%, potato – 15.5%, vegetable oils – 2.1%, natural grape wine and cellar – 2.1 times, fruit and vegetable cans – 10.0%, polyethylene – 25.5%, unprocessed aluminum – 21.1%, cotton fibre – 2.3 times, ferrous metal pipes– 6.2%, cotton yarn – 26.7%, while export of fresh vegetable – 6.2%, sugar – 31.6%, tobacco – 21.2%, fruit and vegetable juice – 13.9%, tea – 21.5%, margarine, other mixtures fit for food – 6.4%, semi-finished ferrous metals – 66.5%, bentonite clay decreased by 10.4%.

On January-September 2018 compared to January-September 2017 import of wheat increased by 11.3%, vegetable oils – 3.4%, fresh fruit – 51.2%, poultry meat and its additional products – 24.1%, ferrous metal pipes – 2.0 times, motor cars – 2.5 times, ferrous metal rods – 27.2%, mineral fertilizers – 50.0%, furniture – 23.0%, computing machinery, blocks and installations – 11.3%, polyethylene – 29.2%, domestic air conditioners – 35.3%, trucks – 2.2 times, washing machine – 18.0%, cement and cement clinkers – 58.6%, domestic refrigerators – 2.0 times, while import of cigarettes decreased by 2.2%, raw sugar and sugar – 35.3%, butter, other milk fats and pastas – 19.6%, tea – 2.0%, potato – 17.3%, beef – 20.3%, fresh vegetable – 46.6%, steel rolling – 5.9%, rubber tires – 1.3%, ferrous metal corners – 0.2%, buses – 20.3%.
