Yearbook reflects activity of micro, small and medium entrepreneurship subjects and covers complex data on private entrepreneurs – natural persons which are considered as micro entrepreneurship subjects, along with legal entities and has been prepared taking into account the recommendations of the international experts in the framework of the European Union (EU) Twinning project “Support to the State Statistical Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy to strengthen collection, harmonization, analysis, publishing and dissemination of business statistics”. The main macroeconomic indicators of micro, small and medium entrepreneurship subjects, their share in the country economy, the number of newly created and liquidated entrepreneurship subjects, the number of employees working in the businesses, wage-fund, investments, expenses and other information are reflected in the yearbook.

For user friendly data and for providing comparison between regions, all indicators were grouped. Separate indicators are shown by types of activity and property, regions.

Note: Micro, small and medium entrepreneurship subjects were determined according to the criteria on micro, small, medium and large entrepreneurs approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 21, 2018, № 556. Micro entrepreneurs include enterprises with average employee payroll of 10 and annual revenue of 200 thousand manats, small entrepreneurs include enterprises with average employee payroll from 11 to 50 and annual revenue from 200 thousand manats to 3000 thousand manats, medium entrepreneurs include enterprises with average employee payroll from 51 to 250 and annual revenue from 3000 thousand manats to 30000 thousand manats.

The yearbook is intended for economists, students, scientists and other users. While using statistical information in publications and press materials the reference should be made to the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Explanations:
According to the rules established for final statistical data dissemination in the Article 22 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Official Statistics”, the data on several districts are not presented in the tables 18, 21, 22 and 23. However, these data have been included in the totals on the country, corresponding economic region and districts (cities).
In some cases, negligible discrepancies between totals and sum of their components are due to rounding of figures.
Data for current year could be adjusted in further publications based on the next precised statistical reports.
The data published in this release may be updated according to changes in the data that will be in future publications.
Data on natural persons engaged in entrepreneurship activity are included in the data on micro-entrepreneurship subjects.
